Starting with our November release, you can leverage AI when writing job descriptions and targeting candidates. This release also increases control over sourcing, improves candidate filtering, and more.
Publish a job with AI ✨
- Write a job description from scratch using AI. We send your brief job description and company description, using a specialized prompt, to GPT-4 to generate a job description.
- Candidate targeting criteria is prefilled using AI. We send your job description, using a specialized prompt, to GPT-4 to generate targeting criteria.
- Imported job descriptions are parsed using AI. We use AI to automatically organize your job description into title, department, overview, responsibilities, qualifications, etc.
Targeting criteria improvements 🎯
In addition to prefilling targeting criteria with AI, we also updated input labels to be more intuitive.
For example, the "Job Titles" label was changed to "What current or past job titles does the ideal candidate have?" These label changes do a better job of explaining how the criteria is used.
Sourcing status improvements 🚦
When you publish a job, we create a sponsored job post on LinkedIn. Previously, this post wasn't removed from LinkedIn until your job was archived. This post is now removed from LinkedIn when job sourcing is turned off. If sourcing is turned on, the post is republished. This aligns with the intended purpose sourcing status.
We also added a new job sourcing status to increase visibility into SquarePeg's process. For example, if we are still building the email campaign for your job, that is reflected in this new status.
Source candidates by location 📍
When sourcing from SquarePeg's database, it's now possible to filter by city, state, or country. We also added a filter to bypass location for candidates that are willing to relocate. We also fixed a small bug related to distance radius.
Candidate status
Previously, the "X days ago" status on candidate profiles showed how long ago the candidate submitted their application. This is helpful when viewing candidates on the applications tab, but less so when viewing your pipeline. In Progress and Archived candidates now show how many days ago their status was updated. In the example below, "Cole S." was moved into "Offers: Pending" 3 days ago.
Pipeline reminders
Previously, pipeline reminders were only sent the first time the notification criteria were met and then again 7 days later. Pipeline reminders are now sent every time the notification criteria are met. For example, if you have "Applications: New" set to "1 Day" you will receive a reminder each day until the candidate's status changes. If you have "Interviewing: Scheduled" set to "7 Days" you will receive a reminder once per week until that candidate's status changes.
Knowledge base and help center 📝
We recently implemented a help center directly inside the platform (located in the lower left corner.) This resource offers step-by-step guides for most common tasks, a searchable knowledge base, and an AI assistant that can answer almost anything about how SquarePeg works.
Other changes
- Improved "# of candidates reviewed" text when reviewing matches
- In Progress and Archived candidates now show how long they have been in their current status instead of how long ago they applied
- Cleaned up the actions menu for draft jobs
- Optimized spaced on candidate profiles by removing the required actions component when there are no required actions
- When a screening question is removed, any previously submitted candidate responses are saved (previously they were removed)
- Pipeline reminders are not sent every day that the reminder criteria is met (previously they only sent once and then again a week later)
- Fixed a bug that was preventing candidates from displaying correctly when sorting by newest (i.e. application date)
Campaign analytics (early alpha access) 📊
We're working on adding sourcing analytics to the platform. This includes campaign metrics (opens, clicks, etc.) and application page metrics (time-on-page, conversion rate, etc.)
