Publishing a job is your opportunity to tell SquarePeg everything necessary to source high-quality, best-fit candidates. This process involves importing, writing, or generating a job description, sharing requirements around location, salary, and sponsorship, determining access settings and application prerequisites, and providing candidate targeting criteria.
- Click Add New Job from the dashboard to get started
- Select a job from your ATS and click Next
If you don't have an ATS connected you won't see this screen.
The import process should take 8-12 seconds (occasionally this takes longer during peak usage.) SquarePeg uses OpenAI’s GPT to ensure your job description is formatted optimally for SquarePeg’s application page. SquarePeg instructs the AI not to paraphrase anything from the job description. However, you should still review your job description for accuracy and to ensure the correct formatting.
Job Description
- Enter your job description
Please take your time and ensure correct formatting. SquarePeg uses your job description to recruit candidates through targeted email campaigns, convert candidates once they reach the application page, and generate match scores for applicants.
Job Details
- Determine location, salary, and sponsorship details
On-Site
On-site means that your job will require candidates to always work from an office. You must also provide at least one city as the office location where this candidate will work. If candidates are allowed to work from multiple offices, list all office locations that apply.
Hybrid
Hybrid means that your job will require candidates to sometimes work from an office. You must also provide at least one city as the office location where this candidate will work. If candidates are allowed to work from multiple offices, list all office locations that apply.
Remote
Remote means that your job will never require candidates to work from an office. If the candidate has the opportunity to work from an office if they want to, you should list all office locations that apply. If candidates must work remotely from a specific location, you must list those as candidate locations.
Salary
Enter a range that includes the lowest, target, and highest possible salary for this job. A salary match will be indicated on the candidate profile for applicants who specify a desired salary within this range. If total compensation includes bonus, commission, stock, or equity you should specify that too.
If you want the actual salary range to be visible to candidates, enable the toggle (shown below.) This will show the salary range on the application page and job board posts.
Job Settings
- Determine who should have access and application prerequisites (if any)
User & Team Access

Cover Letter
When enabled, applicants will be required to submit a cover letter before applying. This may decrease application volume.
Screening Questions
When enabled, applicants will be required to answer all screening questions before applying. If you include too many questions applicant volume my decrease.
Traits Assessment
SquarePeg's traits assessment measures a candidate's soft skills and behavioral traits. If you aren't sure what values to set, click Take the assessment (shown below) to take the assessment yourself. You must have the traits assessment set to Required or Optional for this option to appear.
Targeting Criteria
- Enter all relevant candidate targeting criteria
SquarePeg's accuracy is only as good as your targeting criteria. Please take your time on this page. Targeting criteria tells SquarePeg exactly what type of candidates to target. Criteria marked as required are used to score and rank applicants. However, all criteria you share will be used to source candidates.
